Students designed their own clever memes to express the mental health struggles they face in their everyday lives.

"For this meme, I chose the topic of awareness. Mental health, especially for those under 18, is never talked about enough. I made this meme with a template I find funny and relatable, and I’m hoping its simple but profound message will strike kids. 'Teens are suffering from mental health issues, and we need to talk about it more... Change my mind.' This statement means a lot to me. Many teens, including myself, have suffered with various issues and have been too scared or ashamed to feel like it was okay to speak up. Seeing people my age die from suicide or suffer in silence has made me feel extremely upset. I don’t want this to be an issue that is left not talked about. I hope this meme is able to make teens laugh and understand the message that others relate to what they are going through, and that they are not alone and it SHOULD be talked about."
